Dark Age of Camelot
Version 1.89b Release Notes
Bug fixes and User Interface Adjustments
June 27, 2007

========================================

WARNING - IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR USER INTERFACE

Custom UIs must be updated so that they will be compatible with the UI changes in Version 1.89b. All users have been reset to use the ‘Atlantis’ user interface skin, to prevent client crashing. If your Custom UI has not been updated to utilize the new xml and files, choosing ‘Custom’ from the Options menu will cause your client to crash. Please make sure you have an updated custom UI before changing the user interface skin setting in the Options menu.

NEW THINGS AND BUG FIXES

 - An issue where some houses on open accounts were erroneously condemned and flagged for repossession in 120 days has been resolved. Over the next 24 hours these houses will be returned to their correct states. We apologize for any confusion and inconvenience this issue may have caused.

 - Fixed an issue where the siege window would not appear correctly.

 - Archery sounds now function correctly once again.

 - Players will now be able to designate their cloak as not visible with the /cloak on|off command.

 - Players will now be able to designate their helm as not visible with the /helm on|off command.

 - The Minotaur Relic Larimorn will no longer cause some players to appear headless.

 - Support has been added for four new channels:

Trade (/wtt or /wtb or /wts), only usable in housing/cities.

Advice (REMOVED OLD /ADVICE command), broadcasts a region-wide message for advice.

Region (/region or /local), sends a message to the entire region (set of zones).

LFG (/lfg), sends a message to all looking-for-group players in the region.

 - Critical Damage to pets has been capped at 50%.

 - Speed of Sound will no longer break on benevolent spells/songs.

CLASS CHANGES AND FIXES

Item Notes - Midgard

 - Skald Champion weapons now have + Quickness cap instead of Acuity cap. The Group Accuracy charge has changed to a passive resistance buff and the Absorb Debuff charge has been changed to a melee resist Debuff proc.

DARKNESS RISING WORLD NOTES

USER INTERFACE CHANGES

Isles UI Removed

 - Due to the needs of the UI update, we have removed the Isles interface skin option from the options menu.

 - Any user with a custom UI selected will automatically be reverted to using the 'Atlantis' user interface skin. To use an updated custom UI, just select 'Custom' again in the Options menu at the character selection screen.

Window & Font Alpha

 - The combat, attributes, spells, styles, group, and specialization windows now have a new context menu for window and alpha transparency available on right-click. This context menu replaces the old window and font alpha controls.

 - Tooltip window alpha has been changed to 100% for easier reading.

Icon Art Update

 - Based on player feedback, the style and spell icons have been darkened and are now less saturated. Icon borders are now thicker.

New Chat Window

 - At default, there are now two chat window tabs: Main and Combat. The Combat tab is detached and placed above the Main chat tab. The default message filtering settings for these chat tab are as follows:

Main: Merchant, Loot, Important, Say, Send, Group, Guild, Broadcast, Emote, Help, Chat, Advice, Officer, Alliance, Battlegroup, and Battle Group Leader, Looking for Group, Trade

Combat: Spell, You Hit, Your Death, Resists Changed, Spell Expires, Spell Resisted, Damaged, Spell Pulse, System, Action, Items

 - A context menu is available for each tab when right-clicking on the tab name. The available customizable options are as follows:

Message & Channel: This option opens a new window to set up the filtering and coloring options for the selected chat tab.

Window Alpha: This option adjusts the window transparency, from 100% to 1%, for the selected chat tab.

Font Alpha: This option adjusts the font transparency, from 100% to 10%, for the selected chat tab.

Font Size: This option adjusts the font size, from 9pt to 21pt, for the selected chat tab.

New Window: This option creates a new chat tab window. There can be a maximum of 10 chat windows available on screen at any time. Newly created chat windows retain defaut message coloring and the font size of the parent window.

Rename Window: This option renames the selected chat tab. There is a 1 character minimum and 24 character maximum limit for chat tab names. Please note that the Rename Window option is not available for the main chat tab.

Delete Window: This option deletes the selected chat tab. Please note that this option is not available for the main chat tab.

Default Chat Channel: This option is only available on the Main chat tab. This option controls which chat channel you wish the chat entry field to automatically default to. When "NONE" is selected, the chat entry field will remember the last chat channel typed in.

 - Chat tab windows can be docked to another chat tab window or to the main window by dragging the chat tab to the chosen window.

 - Chat tab windows can be detached from a docked position by dragging the tab away from the window it is docked to.

 - A channel menu, shown as a conversation bubble, is available to the left of the chat entry field. Choosing an option from this menu types the slash command for the chat channel you wish to speak in.

 - An emote menu, shown as a smile icon, is available to the left of the chat entry field. This menu shows the full list of ingame emote commands as graphical icons. Mousing over the icon will display the name of the emote. Choosing an icon from this menu performs the emote. The bottom eight icons are the horse emotes. These icons are greyed out and are not usable until on a player horse.

 - The currently selected chat tab, in a window dock, is highlighted in gray.

 - The last left clicked chat window or tab will respond to the 'Page Up' and 'Page Down' keys for scrolling.

 - Chat windows will now only resize when the user releases the mouse button when using the resize control for a window. The chat window will no longer automatically resize while the resize button is being dragged.

 - When a window gets too small for the tabs to display the full tab name, the tabs will be resized and the name will be truncated.

 - The "You cancel your (spell)" message will no longer be sent to the default channel. This message is now sent as an "Spell Expires" message and can be filtered via the Message and Channel window for a chat tab.

Font System Change

 - For the UI update, we are migrating towards using a true type font system for displaying all game fonts. As the update progresses, we will be elimating use of the older font system and replacing it with the true type font system.

 - The new chat window, overhead names, tool tips, and center screen messages now use the true type font system. The fonts used are defined in assets.xml.

 - Tool tips use a semi-bold, 11pt font for easier reading. Overhead names now use a 20pt font.

 - If the XML for fonts is changed and the new font cannot be found, the default font (Myriad) will be loaded.

Icon System Change

 - We have moved to a more streamlined system for updating and maintaining icons. Icons are now separated into distinct file sheets: base icon, style widget, spell widget, and border. A style/spell now references a base icon and then a style/spell widget and border are applied onto the base icon in the game.

 - The icon sheets have been consolidated (since many icons symbols were shared, the only difference was a widget or border) and renamed to support the new icon system.
